Kingfisher Risk Metrics provides portfolio risk analytics designed for professional and sophisticated investors. The platform focuses on delivering clear, decision-relevant insights into portfolio exposures, drawdown risk, and structural vulnerabilities—without unnecessary complexity.
The objective is straightforward: to support better portfolio decisions through transparent and rigorous risk analysis.
Many risk tools either oversimplify or obscure their assumptions. Kingfisher Risk Metrics is built with an emphasis on clarity, transparency, and control—allowing users to understand both the outputs and the underlying mechanics.
The platform reflects a practical perspective shaped by real-world portfolio management, and is designed to be useful across a range of investment styles.
Kingfisher Risk Metrics was founded by Michael A. Bois, a CFA charterholder and Financial Risk Manager (FRM) with over 40 years of combined experience across the sell-side and buy-side.
Mr. Bois began his career on the sell-side, holding roles at Bear Stearns, Donaldson, Lufkin & Jenrette, and Merrill Lynch. He later spent two decades on the buy-side as a Portfolio Manager and Risk Manager at Linden Capital Management.
He has been a member of the CFA Institute since 1999 and the Global Association of Risk Professionals (GARP) since 2004. He studied Mathematics and Economics at the University of London (LSE) and holds a BA from the University of Dayton.
